Located in Rogers, the Arkansas Athletes Outreach Whitaker Sports Complex is a contemporary athletic facility designed to support training, competition, and community engagement within a cohesive architectural framework. Designed by Fugitt + Wheeler Architects, the project reflects a performance-driven approach to sports architecture—balancing functionality, durability, and a strong sense of place.
The complex is organized to accommodate a range of athletic programs, with clear circulation patterns that separate athletes, spectators, and staff while maintaining intuitive wayfinding throughout the site. Training areas, competition spaces, and support facilities are strategically arranged to maximize efficiency and adaptability, supporting both daily use and larger events.
Architecturally, the facility is expressed through clean lines, robust materials, and a disciplined approach to massing that conveys strength and clarity. Large-span spaces and carefully integrated structural systems enable flexible programming, while façade articulation introduces rhythm and scale appropriate to both the athletes and the surrounding community.
Material selections prioritize durability and long-term performance, responding to the demands of high-traffic athletic environments while maintaining a modern and cohesive aesthetic. Natural light is incorporated where possible to enhance interior conditions, supporting both performance and user experience.
